Dear Diary,
My evil English teacher told me to find out about the Great Wall so I’ve been thinking a lot
ut it. I have a question that I can’t stop thinking about… because of that question, I cannot
get to sleep properly and cannot wake up properly these days. And sometimes, I just fall into my dream
while I’m sleeping. So my question is, is the Great Wall more important than the people’s lives? I can’t
decide my answer...

Yawn… Ugh, that’s it. That’s it for today. No more headaches. Got to sleep now!

Victoria couldn’t find the answer to her question. She fell into a deep sleep and had a dream in which
she heard 5 people’s opinions and reasoning about building the Great Wall…)
Qin Shi Huang
I am Qin Shi Huang. I am the one who decides and tells to people to build something that I want to
show other people. I am always, always confident because in my world, I think of myself as a king.
Hahaha.
Anyways, guess what, I have friends you know... Everybody has a friend, right? So yeah, I have my
friends and guess what; most of my friends are builders. You know who the builders are? They are the
people who can build something and like I said, I am friend of theirs. So it’s pretty easy to tell them to
build anything I want. I mean, just anything! They just have to listen to me. Hahaha.
Master Builders
Sadly, we are the master builders. We all have been having some problems for getting our jobs in this
country and we’ve been selected to be master builders in here, China. And guess what, Qin Shi Huang told
us to build the Great Wall of China, which has to be perfect so the other people would call it the Great
Wall of China “great”.
We like to make a construction or some kind of plans to build something. Of course we do, especially
since we are the master builders. But you know, the problem is, that we sure want to show off our building
skills to other people, but this is like, a too much pressure on us! Nobody, nothing is perfect in this whole
world, can’t you agree on that? But they say that it should be just perfect, perfect enough to be called
“
great”. Are they kidding us or something? It’s really a lot of pressure on every one of us, and we’re being
afraid because we agree and the workers who build something starts to build that Great Wall of China as
they insisted to us, so many people would die while building it and we don’t really want to see the human
lives being lost, just because of building this Great Wall of China. Wait, why are we trying to build the
great wall, anyways, huh? I just forgot... Sorry

What are you saying, you master builders!
I don’t really care. You all know what? If you want to eat, sleep, and doing regular things properly as
you may want to, just LISTEN to me and just do as what I say. Got it? Or get out of here! I don’t really
need you guys. So leave if you complain about wasting human lives, blah blah blah. I can always hire
some new master builders.
And, WHAT?! You FORGOT the reason we’ve got to build the great wall? Are you a bunch of idiots
here? Oh my god. Listen carefully, listen good, and don’t ever forget this or else. We are trying to build
the Great Wall of China, because to protect China from Mongolia.
