One day a group of Mongolians tried to invade his land and steal all of his gems and gold. But,
Mongolians were caught by the knights and were brought to the Emperor. From that moment on,
Emperor began to plan a way to stop the Mongolians ever entering China again.
After the Emperor had planned his course, he passed a note to the people that lived in his land. It read,
Dear Civilians, I have spent time thinking of a way to stop the intrusion of the Mongolians forever. Never
again will they come to our land without our permission. Never again will they hurt you or your family”.
When the Emperor was sure that everybody in China had read that note, he called his Knights to capture
every boy and man in China.
And that is where my story begins. I was one of the boys who was captured by the Knights.
Now, the Emperor commanded the boys and the men to build a tall long wall between China and Mongolia.
So, whenever a Mongolian came, they either couldn’t climb over it or they would get killed by one of the
knights guarding the wall.
Every morning I woke up at six o’clock, put on my jacket, carried my tools and walked to where I was
ordered to build. At twelve o’clock at night, I walked back to my hut, put my toolbox beside me on the floor,
took off my jacket and put my pyjamas on.
The next morning, I did the same thing. But one particular day, when I started building my piece of wall, a
fierce storm started. Everybody went back to their huts to take shelter except me, because I wanted more money,
so my family could live.
Suddenly, lightning struck right behind me. When I turned around, the bricks were melting! I was terrified.
What if the lightning was following me? What if something was trying to destroy me?
While I was thinking, a ghost appeared in front of me and whispered “I will kill you!” But then another
ghost said “wait! I think he is the chosen one!”
After that short conversation they chanted a spell. A doorway seemed to appear and the ghosts told me to
follow them. They took me to the place where a humungous ghost was sitting. He said “It’s time we reveal the
secret to the chosen one!”
Poison snakes slithered towards me and said, “Your great great great great grandfather was the King of the
Mongolians and he told us to tell you this message, “The Mongolians are good people, it was the Chinese who
betrayed them! Go! Be their King!”
I replied “Then……how about the great wall of China?”
The greedy Emperor will do it!”
The snakes cried, “we’ll punish him forever for betraying the Mongolians once in for all! “ And that
explains why it took such a long time for the Chinese to finish building the great wall!
