So we packed our luggage and started our trip. After two hours flying on an airplane we arrived at
ing. I was very excited as it was my first time seeing the Great Wall. I heard the Great Wall is almost
00
km long! It also took over two thousand years to build it and it cost a lot of money! While I was
thinking about this and what it would be like, my plane landed in Beijing airport. After having lunch in the
airport, we took a bus to Badaling.

Back to Qin Dynasty
When we arrived at the Great Wall, we felt very fatigued after the long walk, so we took a rest in one of the
peak stations. Suddenly, a strong light overwhelmed us and we all became unconscious and slumped to the floor.
When I woke up, I found I was surrounded by trees and flowers. To my astonishment, my parents had
disappeared. I intended to find out where I was!
I wandered around to see if I could discover anyone here. I did not know how long I had walked, I felt so
happy that I finally saw a market. I rushed into the market and bumped into someone accidentally. When I
looked back I suddenly realized that person I hit was my mother. I asked her, “Where are we?”
“
I don’t know. Let’s ask people in this busy market,” she answered.
I met a person who was thin and balding. He told me that we were in the Qin Dynasty! Mum told me Qin
Dynasty was one of the shortest Dynasties in the Chinese history. I was worried about how to go back to the 21
st
century and I wondered where my Dad was? While I was thinking, I strolled along the market. I saw a grand
poster. The poster said: “Our country is building this Great Wall. Whoever can build the best part of the wall can
take a special rock. This magic rock can travel through time and it is found in The Great Wall.” This poster
helped me realize how I could go home!
Find Dad in the palace
Two days later, Mum and I went to the palace to apply for this post. It was crowded as there were a lot
people there. There was a man in front of me. He looked like my Dad. I touched his shoulder and asked, “Could
we be a group?” He was very surprised that he jumped back! When it was the time to apply this job, a
Chancellor assigned us to build Peak fire stations.
On the next day, our engineering project began. We first put some big rocks and used magic glue to stick
them together. I heard a woman who cried sadly. I asked the woman. “Why do you cry?” “My husband died
working to build the great wall……….” She said dispersedly. When I heard this news, tears formed in the
corner of my eye. I felt very upset. At night, I told my parents about the story. They told me they heard this story
when they were young. It was impossible because I just knew this story that morning.
After a few days, the chancellor came to the construction site to check our progress. He was surprised by
the great design of peak station. Thus, he was wondering why we could build such a wonderful peak station. He
told the King which we built very well and invited the King to see this building!
In the evening, the King came to the site and showed his appreciation for our amazing work. We were so
delighted to get the marvelous prize – the magic rock. My hands were holding the rock and said, “Magic rock,
magic rock, brings us to the 21
st
century!” The rock became bigger and bigger, a growing light inhaled us into
time tunnel. Then, we were back to home!
After this unforgettable adventure, I learnt more about Chinese history. Moreover, we can travel to the
future or go back to the past! Now I can go anywhere I want thanks to the power of this mysterious magical
rock.
