few years ago, a tall boy named Julian and a pretty girl named Lily went to Beijing during the
summer holidays. They were very happy that they could go visit their homeland.

They went to Beijing by airplane. About three hours later, they arrived in the Beijing airport,
explore. The first thing they were planning on doing was visiting their pen friend, Jane and
i. Jane and Kiki brought them to their favourite place - the majestic Great Wall of China.
They drove to the Great Wall from the hotel, which took over three hours. After the long drive,
they finally arrived at their dream place – The Great Wall. Many people said that: “One who fails to reach the
Great Wall is not a hero,”so Julian and Lily felt very proud when they stood on the incredibly-long Great Wall
and looked out at the beautiful countryside.

Suddenly, the sunny weather turned bad. It began raining and the wind picked up. The sky turned dark.
The Great Wall suddenly changed into a shining golden dragon and flew to the sky. His golden body was
dazzlingly bright. He flew around and around to the tourists. All of them were very scared. Some of them even
screamed. Some of them ran to hide. Some of them had even fainted, but not Lily and Julian. Lily and Julian
were very brave. They shouted at the dragon, “Stop! Stop! Go back to your home, please!”The dragon laughed
loudly and said, “I will go, but you must go with me! Ha Ha Ha, I will take you on a journey you will never
forget!”
An amazing Trip
The dragon put them on its back and flew through many subways and holes. A few minutes later, Lily and
Julian arrived at a mysterious room underground. They saw many great ancient artifacts and a lot of ancient
statues. Some of them were made of stone and copper. And this was only the first floor; they were amazed to see
there was much more here. Lily asked Julian, “Where we are? Did we go into a history museum? ”Julian
replied,“Oh dear me! I don’t think so. Are we in a dream? Is this like Inception?”
They looked around and found a strange picture on the wall that seemed to be instructions. They followed
the instructions and passed through two big and dark caves. They arrived at the second floor. They discovered
that this floor was a replica of the Imperial Palace! They were so excited and happy. Everything there were made
of gold and silver! Even things like chopsticks, bowls, plates and cups! They all looked were very expensive and
were beautifully handcrafted. They looked like they had been made at the hands of talented craftsmen.
When Lily and Julian finally left the magnificent palace, they slipped along a long tunnel and arrived at
the third floor. This room was filled with ancient books, ancient Chinese drawings, Chinese calligraphy and
Chinese poetry. Julian gasped, “This is unbelievable. What an amazing library of art!” Lily and Julian’s eyes
widened at the sight. They were touching and reading lost treasure of Chinese culture.
After taking a rest on the third floor, reading the old scrolls and taking several photos, they continued their
amazing tour of the museum. They ran down a long stairway and opened a big door which was made of stone.
They went up steps to the fourth floor. This room was full of shelves of ancient Chinese technology such as
compasses, gunpowder, and printing devices.
When they went to the lowest floor, the dragon came back and said, “Young humans, you are very lucky
to see me, for I only wake once every ten years! You two must promise me something. You need to spread the
Chinese culture and history all over the world.” Julian and Lilly looked confused, but nodded. “How do we go
back to the Great Wall?” The dragon laughed. “Don’t worry about it. When I go to sleep, I will change back to
the Great Wall.” “Really?” they said. The dragon didn’t answer as the dragon closed its eyes and went to sleep.
They stood on the Great Wall in the sunlight, looking at each other. They hugged each other tightly and thanked
God that they had come out alive.
Their Dreams
Lily and Julian soon went back to Hong Kong. They tried to write about their story. They also made a lot
of booklets about their amazing adventure. Every week they booked an exhibition room at the Hong Kong
Cultural Centre to talk about what they saw at the Great Wall. They posted a lot of detailed photos. Some people
believed them, but others thought they were liars or fools. However, many people did go to the exhibition and
believed them. More people started visiting Beijing again and again. They all hoped to see the Great Wall
change into a dragon.
Years later, the dragon wish came true and he was excited to see that no one was afraid of him and they
were all happy to see him. Lily and Julian were very pleased too. They wanted to visit the dragon and the
museum again and again.
