The Great Wall in an Outer Planet?
Benjamin Tong, Group 2: Fiction, HKUGA Primary School
n Alien’s Calendar, Year 3153, Month 24, Day 34, all aliens had planned to have a journey around the
universe. To enjoy a wonderful trip, the Chief General, named Zepotare, organized all aliens to make
preparation in advance. Well-equipped spaceships, food items, daily utensils and equipment were definitely
required. They were all excited to wait for the moments to come…..days by days, hours by hours, minutes
by minutes, seconds by seconds…..eventually all spaceships were ready to take off…10…9…4…3…2...1.
Go, go, go!!!
The spaceships flew around the solar system and one of them accidentally fell on the atmosphere of the
earth. It was dark and scary. All aliens were extremely horrified. They had never thought of separating from the
other spaceships and now they were the only one touring the unknown land. They landed on several countries,
such as Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Canada but all of them did not ring a bell. They didn’t know anything
that happened there. The spaceship flew around and alien Bretbly was lying close to the door that with a hard hit
turn, he fell out of the spaceship and fell onto the Great Wall in Beijing of Mainland China.
I
Oh dear, he couldn’t imagine where he was!! The Great Wall was like a long dragon lying on the mountains
with uncountable deepest steps. There, he saw numerous small creatures.
What are these?” Bretbly asked himself.
These small creatures moved rapidly and made sounds that he did not understand. He stood at the edge of
the slope, silently watching over the behaviours of all of them. They seemed to eat something strange. They
seemed to talk in quite a different way; they seemed to play around with dangerous acts. They were totally crazy.
By walking up the Great Wall, it’s awe-inspiring. It was the great wonders that he had never seen in his
planet. It’s majestic, it’s magical. If he got the chance to bring this Great Wall back home to show all of his
other aliens fellow. It would be wonderful!! But then how…….
Suddenly, he got an idea. He used his eyes to scan the outlook of the Great Wall, the small creatures and
their belongings, the materials built from the ground, the sand, the stones and everything that he could scan. It
was so wonderful to have a pair of “camera” eyes.
There was a sound shouting to Bretbly. A little boy called Benjamin who wore a thick pair of glasses was a
fan for science and space and it so happened to visit the Great Wall and bumped into Bretbly. Benjamin was
surprised to see Bretbly which was the alien that he had read from the space books. Who brought the alien here?
He was puzzled!! Benjamin then used his own imaginary ways to communicate with Bretbly. Bretbly seemed to
understand what Benjamin had spoken. They then went together to explore the Great Wall. Benjamin introduced
his lifestyle and let Bretbly understand that the small creatures were actually human beings living in this earth.
Benjamin was excited to know an alien friend so when he knew that Bretbly would like to rebuild the Great
Wall in his planet, he drew up a detailed sketch of the Great wall to pass onto Bretbly and told him how to make
good use of the sketch.
Time flew by fast. After a long day’s walk, both of them were very extremely exhausted. Benjamin thought
that it was better for him to see Bretbly to return to his spaceship before he went back. He then took out his
computer, connected it to the internet to send out signals and tried to get in touch with the spaceship. For long,
he waited and waited without any response. He was frustrated. He thought he had to give it up for the signal
might not get transmitted. When he looked up the top of the Great Wall, he came up with an idea. He took
Bretbly to the top of the Great Wall. He took out the lightning detector that he had invented from a school
project. He then tested the timing of the thunder and by connecting the lightning detector with the thunder, he
sent out a signal that the spaceship could receive. The spaceship flew to the tip of the Great Wall so Bretbly
waved his hand to say goodbye to Benjamin. Benjamin smiled and blessed him the best on his journey back
home.
Afterwards, Benjamin went home and lay on his bed for it took too much of his brain power to send Bretbly
back. “It’s worth it!” he murmured to himself as he imagined that one day he could see Great Wall in an outer
planet. This would surely be flabbergasting!
