My Great Battles with the Xiongnu

irst, I have to tell you this story is true. You know the wall of China? You’d think at that time there
were only arrows, swords and stuff but you are wrong! They had already invented bombs, grenades,
lasers and all those stuff. HOW DO I KNOW? I’ve been back there! If you don’t believe me, you can
check the internet and see my picture.

pped in the time machine, I switched the dial from 2013 to 221 B.C.
At first, the Emperor Qin didn’t trust me. He told me to face his general called Meng Tian. He lunged at
me but I escaped, then he lunged at me for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th…times but I still
escaped. Just as he was tired, I punched him on his weak spot. He raised a small white flag which meant I won.
Emperor Qin gave me a task to do. I had to help him design a new weapon. If it did not work, I would get
killed. They tried it and sure enough, it worked. So Emperor Qin made me his second general.
I asked Emperor Qin for 800,000 people to help build a great wall to block the enemy Xiongnu attacks. It
had to be as tall as 20 men, 15-30 feet wide and it had to be 6000 km long. The great wall needs a lot of towers
which served two purposes. First, soldiers could be posted in the towers to keep watch for anyone approaching
the wall. To maximize their line of sight, and therefore, the time they had to warn of potential invasion, the
towers needed to be built on hilltops. Second, if attack came, the soldiers in one tower could light up a signal
fire, and then pass on to the next tower, soon all the towers would have the signal and became alert to prepare to
defend the wall, thus the country.
Suddenly, a soldier ran in and yelled, “The Xiongnu are attacking again!”
I followed Meng Tian to the great wall. I heard the Xiongnu general sneer, “Who dares to fight me head to
head?”
All the soldiers were scared, but I replied, “Ok.”
“
Pathetic! They sent a child!” roared the bad guy. I got pretty mad by that.
I didn’t get any weapons. I just got a little dagger. He lunged at me the same way Meng Tian did. Just
before he killed me, I punched him so hard that he flew and crashed about 100,000,000,000 meters away from
me. He just had enough strength to throw himself on to me. I flashed away and he landed face first on the
ground. I crept up on him and stabbed the dagger in his butt.
“
Oww!” he cried and raised a white flag. He continued, “I surrender, puny child.” I kicked him because he
said I was puny.
I ordered everyone to upgrade the great wall, even Emperor Qin agreed. I helped design some new weapons
to defend our great wall. Later on, after some time, the Xiongnu came again as I expected. “I’ll get my revenge
on you, puny child” the leader thought.
I fired a missile. The enemy did not notice. “Kaboom” went the missile. The enemy retreated immediately.
I spent an hour with Meng Tian designing a new secret weapon.
The next time the Xiongnu came, I opened the door and out came a tank. Meng Tian was driving and I was
the gunner. I fired rapidly. Two seconds and the chief died. The enemy retreated immediately again.
When the Xiongnu came to attack for the third time, they brought special weapons: guns. I got the missile
launcher. They fired the gun but it was no use. We blocked them with shields. I didn’t bother to use a missile.
Our soldiers simply got Gatling laser cannons and blasted them down. When they saw their gun was broken,
they retreated for the third time.
I organized specific training for the soldiers to learn using the special weapons. We and the soldiers went
out for a walk. Suddenly, the Xiongnu ambushed us, luckily I prepared some weapons.
“
So we meet again, my friend.” the Xiongnu leader said.
“
Want another fight?” I asked.
“
Er…um…O…K?” he answered.
I prepared a sword and a secret weapon. When he wasn’t looking, I threw a grenade at him. Boom! He
was gone for good.
At last, I told Emperor Qin that I was from the future and I was going back to 2013. I said goodbye to
everyone and Meng Tian gave me a sword. Everyone was sad because we made friends along all the battles and
I had to leave. As I stepped into the time machine, I vanished.
