he Great Wall in China is an enormous structure, which was built for around 2000 years (from the Qin
dynasty to the Ming dynasty). The Great Wall starts from the East, Shanhaiguan, in Liaoling province
and ends at the west, Jiayuguan in Gansu province. The Great Wall is approximately 20,000km long, 8
metres in height and the narrowest part is 6 metres in width. In the past, the Great Wall was used to
defend enemies from their attack. As the invention of airplanes and missiles, the main function of the
Great Wall is no longer useful. Nowadays, the Great Wall plays a roll as an important attraction to tourism in
China, but tourism also causes problems to the Great Wall.
Zhang Xiao Ming, his nickname is Ah Ming, who was very interested in Chinese historical construction,
especially the Great Wall. Ah Ming was a skinny, tall man of mid-30 in age. He had a reversed triangled face
with pointy ears and a sharp long nose. Many people disliked him. He thought it was because his face, but
actually, there was something else, something which he did not realize.
He was a financial investor, employed by the Shanghai Bank. He lived in a luxury apartment in Shanghai.
Ah Ming had a long holiday in summer. He planned to go to the Great Wall. He had traveled to the Great
Wall in Beijing part for many times, this time, he decided to go to the eastern part, Shanhaiguan.
Ah Ming asked people if they would join him. However, everybody refused him by using different
excuses, such as, busy or no money…
In the morning of the departure day, Ah Ming suddenly woke up, he looked at his clock, and it was 7
o’clock. His flight was on 7:30, Ah Ming shouted, “I thought I set the alarm, why didn’t it ring?”
He quickly changed his clothes, brushed his teeth, cleaned his face and got his bag that was already
packed. Before leaving, he got some food from the fridge. After that, he rushed onto the taxi. Ah Ming ate his
breakfast on the taxi and made a mess to the taxi.
When Ah Ming arrived at the airport, he threw the empty plastic bag of food on the floor and checked in
immediately. “The flight to Qinwangdao is now boarding” the announcer’s voice from the airport speaker said.
Ah Ming ran and ran, with sweat all over his face. Finally, he made it to the gate. He was very tired.
While he was lining up in front of the gate, he spat on the floor. He went in the plane, threw his
belongings into the storage compartment without caring other passengers’ bags. He was snoring and singing
during the journey, the person sitting next to him could no longer stand for the irritating noise from Ah Ming, so
he left and sat in another seat. One and a half hour later, the airplane arrived at Qinwangdao airport; Ah Ming
was the first one to the exit of the plane by pushing everybody in front of him.
Ah Ming arrived at the hotel, there were a few kids playing around, one of them accidentally pushed him,
he looked at the little boy and shouted, “You misbehaving kid, stop making trouble!!”
The boy’s eyes turned watery. “Don’t you cry!” Ah Ming shouted fiercely. The boy did cry and cried
really loud. His parents brought him away from this mean man.
The next day, Ah Ming went to Shanhaiguan by bus.
The scenery in Shanhaiguan Great Wall was different from the Great Wall in Beijing. The scenery of the
Great Wall in Beijing has mountains shaped like a snake lying on the mountain ridges. The scenery in
Shanhaiguan has also mountains like that, but the other side is the sea. This beautiful scenery was known as
“
The First Pass Under Heaven”. Many people were enjoying this amazing scenery, but some people were
destroying it.
The sky was watery blue, it was breezy with fresh air. There were a lot of people taking photos. Ah
Ming was walking with one hand in his pocket, and the other hand holding a cigarette. He did not care about the
people walking by, they were all coughing, but Ah Ming continued to smoke. He threw the finished cigarette on
the floor and walked away. He spat while he walked along the Great Wall with his hands behind his head. He
saw a funny shaped rock, he picked it up and drew on the wall, carving the words, “Zhang Xiao Ming is
Mighty!!” He wrote these words in every certain amount of distance. Ah Ming even threw plastic bottles on the
floor after drinking. The floor was already placed with hundreds of plastic bottles and bags.
Suddenly, the ground shook, people were screaming and were running around. A tourist shouted, “Is this
an earthquake?” Ah Ming was going to answer but something else happened too. The sky started to change its
colour, mountains cracked, rocks were flying everywhere and trees were falling down. Many people were
jumping off the Great Wall, so did Ah Ming. The Great Wall exploded a pile of dust and the Great Wall rushed
upon the sky. The Great Wall curled and was transforming. It transformed into a creature.
It was a dragon! The dragon was big and long, but it didn’t look well. It had bits of scar on his skin, some
