ow!” I exclaimed as I stepped on the Great Wall of China. It was a wonderful sight. A cool
breeze blew gently as I started to walk. I thought China was so lucky to have such an
amazing structure like this in their country. It passed through deserts, mountains and
grasslands along the northern edge of China.

The Great Wall is a 6400 kilometers long fortification with many watchtowers built
along it. But little did I know about this gigantic wall. The wall was made out of stone, straw, twigs and even
mud. Workers who lost their lives building the wall were even buried under it! It was built during the Ming
Dynasty and was made to protect the north of the empire of China from enemy attacks. It is the longest structure
humans have ever built.

Time went by quickly as the sun set behind the mountains. I was exhausted after walking for the whole day.
But, I have a pleasant feeling too as this was a very memorable and wonderful experience for me. I hope I will
be able to revisit this marvel of engineering again one day.
