he Great wall was the place Jack had longed to go more than any other tourist sights. He had been
dreaming of it day and night wishing that one day he could be there. His younger sister Jessica on the
other hand wasn’t much of a fan of the Great Wall but was a fan of CD stores, she wanders around the
store after school so often that even the storeowner recognizes her. One day mum came in the kitchen
with a broad smile and announced “My dear children, we will be leaving tomorrow for a Beijing trip!”
This is when the story really begins.
Jessica sucked all her CDs into her luggage and barely had space for her clothes, “I’m going to buy lots and
lots of Beijing CDs, can’t wait to see how their CDs look like!” squealed Jessica with delight as she was putting
her last CD into her luggage. She peered over to her brother’s luggage, inside the suitcase was not packed with
CDs, instead it was packed with thick books and bookmarks. Jessica giggled under her breath and said “What a
nerd!” Mums footsteps came thudding down the hallway than a knock came on the door, it was time to go to the
airport, and after loading their heavy suitcases on the car they loaded themselves onto the car as well. Jack
dozed off the first moment he sat on the car, he dreamt about characters in the past coming alive on the Great
Wall. This was the first time Jack and Jessica have been on an airplane and they can’t wait to arrive Beijing.
T
Finally, Beijing was right in front of their eyes. “Oh my gosh! I can’t believe it, we are finally here!” It was
bedtime; before Jack closed his eyes he can sense that something was going to happen, something special. “Rise
and shine! We are going to the Great Wall today my friend!” Said dad. Jack shot out of the bed as fast as a
rocket and started to get ready in the speed of lightning. Jessica was laughing at how his brother looks like and
idiot, but Jack just kept on humming his favorite song. When they arrived at the Great Wall, Jack and Jessica
popped put of the car, it’s just that they were heading to different spots, one of them were heading to the CD
store and one of them were heading towards the Great wall. “Get out of there at once!” Came a screech from
mum “We are here to enjoy the beautiful scenario not CDs!” came another screech from mum. So they walked
on the stone staircases. Jessica was moaning and complaining about the hot sun and how tired she was but Jack
felt none of it. Jessica and Jack were far ahead of their parents who were walking in the speed of a snail. After
walking for a few miles Jessica couldn’t stand it anymore she fell on her bum and Jack laughed, suddenly Jacks
laugh was covered by roars of angry men, they turned around and saw Chinese men coming towards their way.
They looked like the Chinese character in the books Jack had read, and Jack just realized that his dream had
come true. They have forgotten about their tiredness and ran for their lives. They sprinted out of sight and
“
Poof!” they were gone. Their parents were next to them breathing heavily. “That was an easy run!” Mumbled
Jessica. Jack couldn't hear Jessica because he was already into the picture of the magnificent Great Wall, it was
the prettiest sight he had ever seen in his life, green trees were surrounding the Great Wall as if it was protecting
the Great Wall upon it.
This was an unforgettable journey for both Jack and Jessica. This journey had made Jessica fall in love with
the Great Wall. Now the two of them can finally have a same conversation with each other, nobody knew this
story until now, (since I have told you). And promise to keep it a secret. Jessica had sobbed all day under her
pillow because she forgot to buy her favorite CDs. Jack now has nightmares everyday about Chinese men trying
to kill him.
