This lesson:

• Introduces the verb 住在 , which means ‘to live in’ (a specifc place)

• Reintroduces different verbs connecting with various modes of transpor t

• Uses to form a plural using a noun (up to now we have only seen this used to form plurals of pronouns, e.g. 我們 )

This Reader introduces the very specifc verb 住在 , which means to live (in a place). Up to now, children have been able to talk about their nationality, whereas this Reader equips them with the vocabulary to talk about where they are currently living. Modes of transpor t are revisited in this Reader; children are aware that different travelling verbs are used when talking about different modes of transpor t, and , the verb used when referring to taking a ferry, is introduced here. Finally, is used to form a plural from a noun, where it has only ever been used to form plurals using personal pronouns in previous Readers.
