Perhaps the scrolls are about Meng Chiang- nu.”
Wait, even if they are about Meng Chiang-nu, why are they written down and hidden in a brick?
According to my knowledge the people who helped built the great wall were only commoners, slaves or
prisoners, how did they know how to write?”
Well, you just have to break those scrolls out of the compartment and I can use my special powers to
try to understand what happened at that time.” Dora answered in a logical tone.
It only took Marcus a few minutes to break the scrolls out of the compartment. He shoved a screw
driver into the gaps of the bricks, using the screw driver as a lever, he gave it a sudden tug and the door to the
secret compartment popped open revealing two ancient scrolls covered in dust and cobwebs.
Theodora took hold of the scrolls and started having a vision about a prisoner who received high
education. Dora read her visions to Marcus “There was a scholar who was convicted due to literary inquisition.
He was given a choice to be executed or to help build the Great Wall for defending the country against the Huns.
The scholar knew he would die even if he chose either side, so he wanted to make some contributions to the
country. Thus he helped to build the Great Wall and witnessed Meng Chiang- nu seek her husband at the Great
Wall.”
We found evidence proving Meng Chiang- nu existed!” Marcus yelped in delight. “We must get back
to the History Research Club at once and spread the word, this is a great discovery!”
Not so fast brats.” A voice boomed
Who are you?” Marcus and Theodora asked in unison
I am the spirit of Meng Chiang- nu’s husband. I didn’t have a happy ending with my wife, so I’m not
letting you two leave in peace unless you win a battle against me.” Boomed the spirit
Show yourself!” said Marcus daringly
The spirit swept him to a nearby plain and started the battle. Theodora stared hopelessly at the fighting
duo, she couldn’t do anything to stop them. Marcus had no hope of winning the battle. As the spirit
overpowered Marcus and was about to end his life with a slash of his sword, Theodora used all of her willpower
to propel herself towards the plain in order to stop the spirit from doing any harm to Marcus. The sprit used full
force to slam the sword against Marcus. When Theodora materialized in front of Marcus, the spirit was taken by
surprise but it did not stop the slashing motion towards Theodora. With that, Theodora’s breath was drawn from
her body. Marcus broke into a weep of sorrow. He wanted to bring her back, but he knew it was impossible, so
he wanted to slay the spirit, but he lifted his head to see that the spirit was nowhere to be seen. A few days later,
he buried Theodora’s body in the plains and started his journey back to the History Research Club
