The helper came out and asked, “Jie, Is that you…? They took them! They have them!”
Who? Where?!” He asked.
Them…! Father and Mother! To the tower! The guards took them to the tower!”
Leave from this place. Is there anywhere safe for you to stay?”
My sister!”
Good, stay there for now…” He told the helper. “Oh god, what has happened…?” He muttered
worriedly as he left. The streets were clearer of people at this time. The sun was almost down. He ran towards
the horse stables. He borrowed the same horse he had earlier that day, and nobody noticed him stealing it. He
galloped towards the guard towers where the jail towers were. He got off, climbed up the rocky walls of the
tower. When he got up to the top, he got onto the pathway of the tall wall. He jumped and grabbed onto a ledge
that led up to another even taller tower. He climbed up until he suddenly heard a woman crying. He was sure it
was his mother. He climbed up the walls of the tower until he found iron bars. He looked inside, and he found
what he was looking for. His parents. They were inside. Mother sitting, and Father standing next to her
comforting her.
Father! What’s happened?!” Asked Jie.
Jie! What’re you doing here!? It’s dangerous! You’ll fall…!”
Father stop! What’s happened?!”
There’s a conspiracy against us! We were framed. You must get to my chest under my desk. Inside it
you’ll find papers and things that won’t make sense to you. Take them all. Use them. Go, Go now.”
Father…”
Go before you get caught and get put into here with us.”
Without looking back, he jumped and hit the ground hard. He saw a guard with his back turned. He
quickly slid down just as the guard turned. The guard missed him. He jumped off as soon as it was at a safe
height.
At home he went to his father’s chest, opened it, and couldn’t make out much. He took a candle, and he
could see inside, a white hooded robe with a thick black outline. He saw a sword, a dagger, and some paper
work. He took the first piece of paper, and started reading it.
Son,
If you are reading this, then I have instructed you to look into this chest. There may be a high
possibility that I am in jail, or in big trouble of some kind. Take my Dagger and my Sword and use them. I also
have a special robe for you. If you have ever thought that I was a banker, you were wrong. I, and a few others,
were part of a special group. We were assassins. We kill for the justice of common people. I hope you can
forgive me for lying to you for your whole life. I know it’s hard to take in, but it’s the only truth.
Jun,
Your father
He needed a lot of time to take this all in, but he didn’t have it now. He would have to do it later. If he
stayed there for too long, guards might come back to check the house. He found another piece of paper, and it
had proof of his family having nothing to do with this ‘conspiracy’ his father was talking about. He read on and
found out that they were framing his family for stealing large amounts of money. But, there was proof of the
government themselves stealing all this money for use of themselves, but they were on the verge of being
caught, so they cover it up by framing a family in a village. “Well, they messed with the wrong family. I’m
going to stop this before they do this to anyone else…” he muttered.
He left the house with the robe, swaying in the wind while he walks, with both of his blades hidden
under them. It was as if they were meant to hide things. They went down to below his knees. His sleeves went
down to his hands, and they fit perfectly. It was very comfortable, and let him still be as flexible as he was
before. He walked on for a few meters, and then two guards appeared from the corner. They both noticed him,
and they took out their swords. They came up to him and surrounded him. His heart was very calm for some odd
reason. The first guard took a swing at him, and with an instant, he had his sword, and deflected the hit and with
a swift move, the sword was up the guard’s stomach, blood slowly dripping out through the back where the
sword had exited. He pulled the sword out, and the guard fell to the ground. “Rest in peace”, Jie whispered. The
second guard looked scared. He took a swing, and suddenly, Jie’s heartbeat slowed. Time slowed. Everything
stopped. He noticed the guard’s leg was extremely unstable. His body was not in a good angle for attack either.
The guard was terrified. Time started again, like a spark. Jie swiftly kicked his leg, and he fell to the ground. Jie
finished him, by leaving him sitting there unconscious.
He listened secretly to the conversation between a few guards. They mentioned that the manager had a
fight with one of the guards, and fired him. Jie had to talk to the manager about the conspiracy, and if he’s part
of it, he will interrogate him, he thought.
