sudden, he started to feel a burning sensation on his right arm, when he checked his arm; he found out that his
birthmark was glowing! Glowing, as in emitting bright light in the dark! There’s no time for this, he thought, I
have to save the others. So, he ran out of the cave, and charged at the gigantic dragon. Since the dragon was so
far away, he aimed for the dragon’s heart and without thinking, threw his sword, his only weapon, the only thing
that could keep him and his friends alive, at the beast.
Unfortunately, Ming missed the dragon and the dragon escaped! When Ming found out that his friends
survived, he quickly grabbed his sword and stared at it. As his birthmark glowed in the moonlight, Ming and his
friends stared at the birthmark and his sword in amazement.
Finally, Wu broke the ice, and asked Ming what kind of sorcery that was and where he found it.
Ming replied that he had no idea and he found it in the dragon’s cave.
So they went back inside the cave to investigate how did the sword end up in the dragon’s cave. While
they were investigating and exploring in the cave, Mei Li found out that there were paintings of two men and
one girl on the walls of the cave. Mei Li thought that the drawings looked so familiar, so she took a closer look.
She saw a young boy with some mark on his arm, a very familiar looking girl and an older, but buff man. Then
Mei Li stifled a scream, as she finally realized! They were actually paintings of the three of them! Mei Li
thought that the fact that a stranger was drawing her, her father and her best friend was really creepy.
Immediately, she rushed to Ming and Wu and told them about it.
As they were trying to figure out what the cave paintings meant, Mei Li realized that the cave paintings
were a prophecy, since it showed Ming killing the dragon.
According to the prophecy on the cave walls, it showed that they had to go on a quest to kill the dragon
using the cursed sword, which can be found in the depths of the cave. However, once they were to slay the
dragon, one of the 3 of them would die. And lastly, they only have 5 days left to slay the dragon, if they couldn’t,
all of China will be doomed!
When Ming first found out his sword was cursed, he immediately dropped his sword and it hit the floor
with a CLASH! After knowing the prophecy, he was happy he didn’t kill the dragon. But the sound of the
prophecy didn’t sound much fun either.
Mei Li said that there had to be another way.
Then Wu replied that there was another way! Wu said he knows of a sorceress who knows all about
these kind of things.
However, all of them agreed that they better start in the morning.
So the next morning, all of them somehow managed to find food in the woods and managed to have
enough rest. Soon enough, they began with their journey. Although everyone knew Wu had no sense of
direction, Wu kept on insisting that he knew the way. Ming thought that they wouldn’t have anywhere else to go
anyway. On the way, they saw a little monkey. They were famished by this time. Ming was holding his sword
and jokingly, asked the monkey where they could find food. Instantly, the monkey pointed to a direction with
what seemed like dozens of trees filled with ripe fruits! Ming, Mei Li and Wu all dropped their jaws in shock,
but without further ado, all three of them rushed to pick the ripe fruits.
A few hours later, to Ming and Mei Li’s surprise, they actually reached their destination! Ming said
that Wu was really full of surprises. Mei Li chuckled.
The sorceress’ house was a tiny hut with a little garden full of witch-like plants such as witch hazel and
dark coloured flowers, surrounding the small hut.
As they cautiously knocked on the wooden door of the small house, Ming was wondering how on
earth they were able to fit inside that tiny house which was the size of a closet. Then, a surprisingly young
woman answered the door. After Ming, Mei Li and Wu told their story to the young woman, she, also called
Jing, invited them in her house.
Once the door opened, the Ming, Mei Li and Wu realized the inside of the house was as humongous as
a mansion! Jing then offered to serve them tea. With the food the three have been eating recently, they were
more than glad to finally eat decent food. Afterwards, Jing told them how they could save China without slaying
the dragon and risking the death of one of them. She told them to build a wall made of stone that stood 5 people
wide, 20 people high and 5,500 miles long and she also mentioned that they could make the wall look like a
dragon so the dragon would be pleased and would not attack. However, she reminded them that they’d have to
finish their job in 4 days, or China would really be doomed!
In the beginning, they were hesitant. How could they build a wall that stood 5 people wide, 20 people
high and 5,500 miles long in 4 days? Was there a special technique to build this wall? Was there another way?
Sadly, the sorceress replied that they’d better think of a solution to build this wall in 4 days and that
that was the only way.
