nce upon a time, there were two dragons in the west. One of the dragons lived in China and the other
one lived near China. The red dragon who lived in China had a kind-hearted disposition, but the other
one was mean and fierce and its body was covered with cold blue scales, so it was named the blue
dragon .With the protection of the red dragon, China was peaceful and quiet, and the people who
lived there were very happy. However, peace didn’t last forever.
One day, when the blue dragon flew past China, it took a look at China and saw the villagers in China
were enjoying their wonderful lives. It also found out that their land was extremely rich and better than its own
land, so it started getting jealous and wanted to take over China. It began to disturb the people’s lives by
shooting flames all over China. Many houses were burnt by the blue dragon and some people were even injured.
When the red dragon saw this, it was so angry that it wanted to teach the blue dragon a lesson. It also thought
that the blue dragon was too selfish. The red dragon didn’t want to let another dragon rule over China so it went
to discuss the matter and asked the blue dragon to stop doing this. But the blue dragon didn’t listen and even
tried to destroy the rest of the houses in China.
The red dragon couldn’t take it anymore. It decided to fight with the blue dragon. But the villagers didn’t
agree, because they thought the blue dragon was too strong and they wanted to keep the red dragon safe.
Because of the war, many villagers had to rebuild their homes, put out the fire and even rescue the injured
villagers. They did all these things together to show their teamwork but the red dragon couldn’t do anything .It
just stayed and watched the villages working laboriously.
Seeing all these things, the red dragon knew that it had the responsibility to protect China, and couldn’t only
remain safe, doing nothing and pretending all these terrible and painful things done by the blue dragon didn’t
exist. So it went to fight with the blue dragon immediately, full of confidence and firmness. First, it gave the
villagers a hand putting out the fire by spraying some water from its mouth. It really helped a lot because it just
took a little time for it to put out the fire. However, the villagers needed to work very hard on this. And the red
dragon was also willing to help the villagers to rebuild their houses and put things back to normal, just like
before. After that, it flew to find the blue dragon and headed straight towards it.
When the red dragon went towards the blue dragon, the blue dragon was really cunning. It flew behind the
red dragon as soon as it noticed the red dragon was flying towards itself and shot some flames at it. The red
dragon was very angry so this started a war. Both of the dragons flew above the sky and started fighting. In
order to achieve its aim of taking over China, the blue dragon was willing to do anything. It was so cruel that it
punched the red dragon hard. It even threw some sand at it. This made the red dragon almost blind. When the
red dragon couldn’t see anything, the blue dragon made use of the time and hit it many times until it fell down.
A villager saw all things and he felt angry. ‘It isn’t fair to the red dragon. You are cheating,’ he yelled. But the
blue dragon ignored him.
After the red dragon fell down, some villagers were worried and ran to it, trying to comfort it. The blue
dragon roared as loudly as it could to keep off the villagers. The blue dragon’s face was full of anger and it tried
to hurt the villagers. But the red dragon stood up quickly to prevent it from doing this. They fought for many
hours more. The villagers were all afraid and worried, but all they could do was to watch them fighting and keep
encouraging the red dragon. It looked like the war would never stop, and would still continue until the red
dragon was totally exhausted and its body was covered in bruises. It wasn’t able to resist the blue dragon or any
other predators anymore. But it didn’t give up due to the encouragement from the villagers. At last, the blue
dragon was killed and everyone was delighted, but the red dragon had suffered terribly.
The red dragon was bleeding but the villagers didn’t leave it. The villagers just rushed to it. They all
knew that the red dragon couldn’t stand the pain anymore, and it would die very soon. Some children were so
upset and even hugged it. Many villagers began to cry but the red dragon gave a little smile to them to cheer
them up.
Suddenly, the heavens opened and it started raining heavily and there was lightning too. But the villagers
didn’t leave the red dragon alone. The red dragon roared painfully, and its eyes filled with tears, but this wasn’t
because of the pain of its bruises. It was because of the red dragon’s worry over China. It was afraid that other
people would start another war and bring pain to China, so before the red dragon died, it turned itself into a long
thick, wall to prevent other people’s invasion of China.
Thus, the red dragon became the Great Wall, which we can see in China nowadays. The Great Wall
symbolizes the red dragon’s braveness and loyalty to China. Chinese people like to wear clothes in red to honor,
