Although she led a life of swindling, her and her whole family were not looked upon in shame. They
stole for the weak, they stole to live. When someone was going to die, they made sure they did everything for
them because no one can replace a life. Ah So continued to run from the guards who were closing in. When she
came to him, despite his arguments, she swung his leg across her back and held him across her shoulders. She
was surprisingly strong, nevertheless she was struggling and they weren’t traveling fast. An idea came to her
mind. The next guard post was not being watched. That would give them a chance of being not seen for only a
split second. It was now or never.
Her sweat was forming icicles around her chin, her baggy clothes were slowing her down and she had
not eaten for days. She was determined to pull this off. They entered the small guard tower and instead of
running on she swung Arthur around her body and threw him off the wall and in to the soft snow. She was
surprised at how easy the snow had covered them. The guards passed them. She helped Arthur to his feet, and
with a limp they both began to walk in the same direction, in hope of finding home.
