heart could give up on me any minute. My job would have to be passed on to someone else then and I was too
dangerous to stop building it now. We had to keep building it until we reached the borders of Japan. The days
went past like each had been a year, the hours were slugs slowly moving towards their destination.
Then one day someone approached me saying, “I think we have come to our destination!” I said, “Yes,
let us celebrate when we get back to the temple.” I knew we couldn’t make it though, Dragula would get here.
The wind was way too strong now; there was no chance of us making it especially now that the dragon was here.
They all knew that very well, we could smell the fire in the air.
Soldiers, go away from here! Cross the borders of Japan and be gone forever. Do not dare to come
back here!” I told them in my most commanding voice. They were all very loyal to me so it must have been hard
to leave me alone now. But I had to face the dragon by myself so it would not harm my people.
It was finally here. Its evil eyes were looking down at me, when it flew above my head. I got out my
sword and shield. My head was sweating; it was like I could smell myself burning already. I took a step
forwards Dragula and screamed out at it in my loudest voice. It now had come to my level, so we could fight for
the last time. I started throwing my sword in the air trying to reach the dragon’s head but it was impossible. I
decided to take a risk and kill it from behind. I took a deep breath before slaying Dragula in half. I jumped under
it and struck my sword directly into its stomach. Fire started coming out of it when I ran away but the dragon
followed. This is it, or was it? The day I was supposed to die? I couldn’t let that happen. I stopped running and
as quickly as possible slicing one of the dragon’s feet off. I was too nervous that I would never be able to kill it.
Furiously, it roared at me, flames everywhere. Dragula’s breath smelled like fresh blood. “No! You are going to
die!” I cried, ‘there!’ and the other foot was severed. Its mouth opened and the fire burst out at me, I was lucky
I had the shield with me because the fire couldn’t melt it. Then suddenly, when all my hopes were in tatters, the
fire changed direction, it was travelling towards the dragon now. It hit it like a fireball from hell, and Dragula
fell to the ground, dead. I was the only one, who saw its last breath.
I am the only one who was able to kill it. Who am I? I am the Dragon Warrior.
