The next morning when I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was the ceiling with the dragon. I got
up as quickly as possible, grab my backpack and went to the kitchen table. I stuffed everything in my mouth
and left as soon as possible. I met Fiona outside of her house and we headed to the entrance of the Great Wall.
Once we got there we started digging with our shovels. Our hands were hurting so much. At last we touched
the airs that suck the soil into; we dropped our shovels. I jumped in the hole then Fiona followed on; there was
a tunnel. A tunnel that woluld lead us to somewhere.
A damp smell came through my nose as soon as we entered the tunnel. We could hear screams and
shouts in the same language that I heard the soldiers spoke on the Great Wall; some of them were choking. I and
Fiona started to choke as well. We carried on walking for a few minutes and then we started to hear roars. I
was starting to think what my grandfather told me earlier yesterday was true. Fiona faced
forward and I faced backwards; we were back to back. Then Fiona tapped me on the shoulder.
Um…..Um”, said Fiona
What’s wrong?”
Look...”
As soon as I turned, there it was a dragon. The first dragon I’ve ever seen in my life; it was silver with
sparkly scales. It looks exactly like the one on my ceiling except I could only see its head. It was telling me that
he was trapped. I didn’t know how or why I could understand him but Fiona couldn’t. She was standing there
stunned and shocked.
The Mongolians are trapped down here because of the mist; we can’t let them go or they’ll attack the
village. You need to help me get out of here.”
Do you know why the vegetables died?”
Yes, I did it to signify the people that I needed help.”
Well how can we help you?”
I need you to dig a big enough hole for me to be free. I can’t live here no longer because the Great
Wall has given me no way to go out.”
Once you get out, what about the Mongolians?”
Just leave them here, they’ll suffer and die themselves.”
Is that hole big enough for you?”
I turned around and pointed to the hole that we dug.
Yes”
Goodbye”, said I and Fiona in shock.
The dragon slithered, transformed into a blue ball of light and disappeared. I and Fiona quickly ran to
the exit and covered the hole with soil and ran back to the village.
Once we got there everyone looked normal as if nothing ever happened to their crops. I and Fiona promised
each other that we’d pretend that nothing ever happened.
