housands of years ago, there was a king named Qin Shih Huang. He was a dictator. He had a lot of
money and jewels. There were gold, platinum, diamonds, spice, silk, and all the other expensive things.
He did not want the valuables to be stolen. He wanted to keep it even when he was dead. He wanted to
build a mausoleum for himself, so that he could keep his expensive things forever. First, he built a
square mausoleum. Unfortunately, somebody stole everything in it. Then, he built a rectangular
mausoleum. Few years after, somebody destroyed the whole mausoleum! He was very crossed. He
went very mad. He killed all those people who destroyed the mausoleum.
He sent a letter to his Egyptian cousin, Khufu the Pharaoh. The letter said: “Dear Khufu, how are you? I
am confused about making myself a mausoleum. First, I made a square mausoleum, but somebody broke
through the secret doorway and stole everything inside. Then, I tried to make a rectangular one, but somebody
destroyed the whole mausoleum! Could you give me some advice to make a strong mausoleum? ”A few months
later, Khufu the Pharaoh replied. The letter said:”My dear Qin Shih Huang, I can give you an idea. My brother
Tutankhamen died a few years ago. People built a pyramid for him. They turned the dead body of Tutankhamen
into a mummy and put it in the pyramid. The pyramid was strong enough to prevent tomb raiders. My teacher
Euclid and Pythagoras told me the equation. That is:
f=accel(x)=a0+n=1∞(ancos nπxL +bnsin nπxL ) f= m(M-m)V

Qin Shih Huang was very happy about his cousin’s letter. He assigned this job to a general named Meng
Tian. Meng Tian was a tall and generous man. He was very clever too. He invented the Chinese ink brush.
Although he was the cleverest people in the whole kingdom, he still could not understand those complicated
meaning of the formula. Then, Qin Shih Huang told Meng Tian that he would give anything Meng Tiang needed
to build the pyramid. He also told Meng Tian that if he could not make a pyramid, he would execute him. Meng
Tian did not have any idea to build a pyramid, so he replied Qin Shih Huang hesitantly,” Err…...all I need……
all I need is a lot……a lot of ……stones. Yes, stones!” Qin Shih Huang was very satisfied about his reply. So
he delivered Meng Tian a thousand of stones every month. No matter the stone is square or round, white or
black, soft or hard the stone is, Qin Shih Huang would give him. Meanwhile, Meng Tian was at his own home
tried to know the meaning of the formulas. He thought from day to night, from morning to midnight, but he still
could not know the complicating meaning of the formulas. One day, a soldier of Meng Tian went to ask him
where to put all the rocks and stones. ”Put all of them along the mountains,” Meng Tian replied without thinking.
Several months later, the soldiers thought that the good way to use all the rocks and stones were to make a castle.
The soldier piled the rocks and stones and started building. They built a small castle. When the rocks and stone
used up, they thought that the job was done, but the next month, there were more rocks and stones arrived. The
soldier started to build again. The castle became longer, longer and longer. It was because the delivery of rocks
and stone never stopped.
Time was running. The king was out of patience. He went to asked Meng Tian about the progress. At
that moment, Meng Tian still did not has any idea about the pyramid. When he went to the construction site
with the King, both of them were surprised. Suddenly, Meng Tian had an idea. He explained to the King, ”We
are building a road of wall towards the pyramid,” as Meng Tian was a general, he had a good knowledge of
defence, so he added, “if we place some beacon stations on top of the wall, it will be a barricade to the
barbarians from the north. The King was very happy to hear such an idea. He ordered to build the wall
continuously, and made 500 beacon stations on it. A few years later, there was really some barbarians attacked
the empire. The enemy saw the wall and tried to use ladders to climb over it, but the wall was too high and the
ladders could not reach the top. The enemy tried to use catapult to break the wall but the wall was strong to be
defeated. The soldiers of Qin Shih Huang fought with the barbarian for a long time and they finally captured the
catapult & broke them like pieces of cheese. The barbarians had to retreat at last. The wall really could protect
the empire. So Qin Shih Huang named it as ‘The Great Wall’.
In the same year, there was s sudden change of weather in south west of china. It was extremely hot and
dry for months. Qin Shih Huang leaded his soldiers to see what was happening there. They went pass a place
liked dessert. Suddenly, he shouted, “Pyramid! At last you have built a pyramid!” he looked at Meng Tian and
said,”when I was dead, put me in there!” Meng Tian was confused and shrugged. He did not do
anything! Actually the pyramid was only a mirage. It is the mirage of the King’s dear cousin Khufu’s giant
pyramid in Egypt! At that time, people did not have any knowledge about mirage. They thought it was real.
Qin Shih Huang died suddenly later, the generals built a strange shape of mausoleum in a hurry. They
