t was sunrise on a peaceful day, until General rushed into my room. “What is the meaning of this,
General!” I (Emperor Qin Shi Huang) demanded. General was wounded in the shoulder he was gasping, I
realized I was wrong shouting at him so I said gently, “Sorry if I yelled too loud, so what’s the matter
General? “ Your Highness, Mongols are invading the city, nearly every soldier has been wounded, only a
few soldiers are left defending the city!” the General replied, he looked like he was going to faint.
I asked him quickly, “have they harmed the citizens?” the General was as pale as snow as he
replied weakly” Yes, they killed some of them; others are mostly injured. I could hear my own blood boiling.”
those Mongols daring to attack my Empire, daring to hurt my citizens, those horrible species of people.” I
thought. “ready the defenses. General, you lead the injured one’s to safety and lead the citizens of the city to
safety. Got it?” “Got it.” replied the General.
I
The ground shook,I saw people with spears and knives running into homes, yelling for money and gold.
I was nervous, yet I was ready to face the leader of the tribe, Temuchin, also known as Chingis Khan, he was the
most successful Mongol leader ever.
Suddenly, I felt a wave panic surge over me but my mind resisted and said, “You can do it, Qin. You can just
believe in yourself.” so I pulled my sword out of it’s sheath.
My heart was thumping, my hands were trembling but I stood on until Temuchin said, “ah the Emperor
of China standing right in front of me, welcome to your death!’ Temuchin striked quickly but my arm seemed to
move on it’s own deflecting every strike he aimed at me. Beads of sweat were appearing on his forehead. I got
tired of just deflecting his strikes so I aimed my own strike in my heart. As my father said, “Aim first, just try
and hit the target power will come later.
Meanwhile General was helping the wounded plastering bandages and wrapping arms. He really
seemed more like a doctor than a General at that moment helping soldiers and town citizens. When he finished,
he secretly prayed, “Please, Qin, remember your father’s training, oh, great spirit of Zhuang Xiang protect our
city and Emperor.”
I aimed my strike and I suddenly felt a wave of panic but I gulped it down. I struck and the Leader fell
to the ground in pain of both his legs. He couldn’t stand up and he shrieked at me, “What have you done to
me?” Then he fainted at the sight of his legs becoming loose. The Mongols looked, one look at me standing one
foot on their fainted leader’s back smiling triumphantly. They screamed and shrieked trying to run away from
me but soldiers stopped them again, they turned to argue either to surrender or not but the soldiers grabbed them
and led them away.
In a distant country a warlord called Cao Cao heard of this incident he rushed off to see the Emperor.
Cao Cao was a very clever man he had thought of a great plan that would stop Mongols or other enemies
coming into the city. Finally, he reached the Royal Palace, he saw me talking to General so he bowed and said,
Your majesty, I have a brilliant plan of having the Mongols or enemies ever coming in here again!”
I raised my eyebrow in curiosity and said, “We must discuss this subject immediately.” We went into
the garden then I asked, “Alright, what’s the plan?” Cao Cao said, “We build a giant wall as bigger than any
wall stretching from, lets say, from Shang Hai Guan to hmm Lop Lake. If enemies try to attack, they’ll have no
chance of getting in!”
They finished discussing and Emperor Qin Shi Huang told the General and his soldiers to start building
this wall at dawn. The Emperor also contacted the states of Qi, Yan and Zhao to tell people to start building the
wall. Iit took many years to build it after the wall was finished. Qin Shi Huang had already passed away but the
people of China still remember him as the first Emperor of China and Cao Cao as the creator of The Great Wall
of China.
