at’s the end of the lesson.” Miss Puk announced. Everybody stood up and said good-bye to the

What a boring lesson! We all know about the Great Wall, aren’t we?” sighed an ordinary
ndary student, Andy Kwok. “Miss Puk has told us a lot about it, hasn’t she? I was quite interested
of it,” his friend, Derek Yau said excitingly. “OK, you’re appraised as the promising student union chairman. So
you’re always being careful what you say,” Andy told Derek. With a few steps, they arrived at their own houses.

See you next day,” shouted Derek. Andy waved his hands and entered the mansion. “I hope...That won’t be true.
Don’t think about that!” Derek soliloquized while he was in the lift.

The next day, the two neighbors hurried to the school. Suddenly, an object fell down up from the sky.
Luckily, no pedestrians were injured. But they found something was wrong. “Why can’t we move?” Andy yelled.

What happened, Andy?” Derek was puzzled, “others can’t even speak!”
The object slowly stood up from the ground. “Ouch! It really hurts! Oh! I had something to do. I have to
meet two secondary students,” the doubtful “robot” said to itself. Then it asked Derek and Andy, “Err... Do you
know who Andy Kwok and Derek Yau are?” They answered decisively, “We are!” Soon they were very
surprised. “This robot is finding us? Strange!” Andy thought.

Let me introduce myself. I’m a robot from...” Hardly had the robot finished half of the sentence when
Andy interrupted it. “You’re a robot from Qin Dynasty! It’s nice to meet you!” Andy screamed. “Sorry... I’m a
robot from the future. In the past people don’t have robots.” “I know! You needn’t remind me.” Andy was
embarrassed.

Time is stopped, am I right?” Derek asked. “You’re a clever boy. Yes! I’ll bring you two back to Qin
Dynasty to know more about the Great Wall. Let’s go!” the robot took out a ruler and shouted, “back to Qin
Dynasty!” They were pulled into a “time tunnel” and...
Chapter 2
Time: Qin Dynasty & Ming Dynasty
“
Where... where are we?” asked Andy. They have fainted for about a day. “The robot must be a swindler!”
Derek was cross. “What? I am not a deceiver! Derek, don’t be suspicious!” the robot yelled, “The time tunnel is
for future people, but not you! So, both of you had side effects. Okay, let’s start now!”
They tiptoed into the palace of Qing Destiny. “You’ve worn the invisible clothes, nobody will see you,” the
robot whispered. Hardly had they entered the room when Qin Shi Huang sat down on the well-decorated chair.
“
Meng Tian, construct the Great Wall from Lintao to Liaodong,” Qin Shi Huang ordered. Andy and Derek saw a
general standing straight, and he left the room in a minute. “Follow him! He’s building the Great Wall!” Andy
told the robot. “You fool! It takes four days to the construction yard on foot. We’ll get into the tunnel again. But
its name is travel tunnel.” Feeling dizzy, they were pulled into the tunnel again.
“
Don’t be lazy, build the wall immediately! Otherwise I may kill you!” an astringent man scolded at a few
perspiring workers. Obviously, the workers are grumbling. “What a rude guy! I had to give him a lesson,” Derek
whispered since he knew that he couldn’t shout. “Keep quiet! We are bystanders!” Andy reminded him. “He’s
rude...” Derek still tried to continue. “Yes, Andy is absolutely right. Obey please, Derek,” the robot said softly.
Just then, a worker was spanked because of his disobedience. “If you keep ignoring me, this knife will
strike into your body and your family members won’t be alive. Ha! Ha!” the man laughed and he took out a
sharp knife. “Cruel...” Andy thought. “Why Qin Shi Huang didn’t do anything? People were suffering!” Derek
was doubt. “So, do you think that building the Great Wall is full of advantages?” the robot questioned the two
boys. “I don’t think so,” Andy smirked. “But it also has the function of defending,” Derek told Andy, “However,
Qin Shi Huang’s second son didn’t rule the country well. I’m much better than him!”Derek praised himself.”
Derek, you are haughty, aren’t you?” Andy grinned. “Robot... Please usher us to Beijing in Ming Dynasty,”

Here stood an old-looking man. “Who are you two?” he asked. “I’m a student from 2014,” Andy said.

Could you please tell me more about the Great Wall?” Derek was curious. “Ha! The Great Wall was built in
different dynasties. Now, we are constructing the Great Wall. It can help defending the others.” the old man said.

But why you’re here?” Derek requested. “Good question. Just for transporting. Sometimes people will pass the
tunnel. Here come the people! Get away,” the man shouted. And a gang of old-fashioned women ambled
