Abby A & the Angry Mongols
David Annis, Group 2: Fiction, Xi'an International School
i my name is Abby, Agent Abby. I’ve been assigned a mission in Beijing, China. Right now I’m on a
train heading for Beijing. All I know is that I have to go to Beijing and then go where my instincts
bring me.
Bring, Bring
,
I reached for my phone as the train screeched to a stop and the doors opened.
While I walked off the train I realized that it was my fellow agent, Agent Brown calling me.
“
Agent Abby, have you reached your destination?” Agent Brown asked.
“
Yes I’ve just arrived.” I answered.
“
Good.” Agent Brown replied.
H
My stomach rumbled so I decided I’d walk through the station after I ate something. As I walked toward the
store four Mongols did too. These Mongols all had guns and badges that showed they were high ranking
soldiers. Then I realized they all were closing in on me! I slid my hand onto the pistol on my belt just in case. As
I quickly walked the Mongols still followed. Soon I came to a dead stop realizing I had to fight. One Mongol
standing closer than the others reached out to grab me but I quickly flung myself around and dodged his arm. I
kept dodging punches and then grabbed my gun and shot a guy. Everyone froze, and then I realized I had shot
their leader. They all grabbed their guns. One raised his gun to fire but I shot him immediately. The other two
turned to run but I shot them too.
After a few minutes of examining, I knew they were dead. I checked their pockets and found a ticket to the
Great Wall in each. I grabbed my phone and called Agent Brown.
“
Agent Brown here, what do you need Agent Abby?” Agent brown said. His voice crackled over the wire,
my phone never crackled. Someone didn’t want me to be talking.
“
I need backup.” I answered.
“
ok” Agent Brown replied.
“
tell them to meet me at the gate to the Great wall.” I replied.
I hung up the phone and hurried out of the station.
“
This case is dangerous, very dangerous.” I said under my breath. I caught a taxi and sped toward the Great
Wall.
As I pulled in I noticed three people waiting next to the road. I kept examining quickly as I jumped out. I
realized that they were my backup. I walked toward them with the tickets in hand. When I reached them I
explained the situation and gave them the tickets. As we walked towards the gate, I realized twenty Mongols
closing in on us! I grabbed my two pistols and told the other agents to get their guns ready. I told the officials to
empty the building of the civilians. At first they argued but with a flash of my badge everyone left. However the
Mongols didn’t leave. I raised my gun and ordered the agents to fire. On the first shots three Mongols fell dead.
We kept firing until there was one left.
One agent raised his gun to fire but I yelled, “Hold your fire!”
This Mongol had a badge that showed he led all the Mongols. I took out a pair of handcuffs and shoved
them on the Mongol.
After around fifteen minutes of silence I asked, “Why do you dislike the Chinese?”
“
China should have been the Mongolians!” The Mongol hissed.
“
What can you do about it, that war was hundreds of years ago?” I said back.
“
The wall made us fall and now we shall make the wall fall.” The Mongol spit back.
Just then I realized that the Mongols and secret plans to destroy the Great Wall. I grabbed my phone and
called Agent Brown.
“
Agent Brown here, what do you need?” His voice crackled over the wire.
“
I need more backup, probably most of the force and send all the choppers and tanks.” I answered.
After I hung up the phone I stared at the Mongol and left him.
On the way to the ticket booth I loaded new bullets into my gun. A few minutes after we entered the Great
Wall I realized that three people were aiming guns at me. I put my hands in the air and turned around slowly. I
realized that Mongols were aiming guns at me and the other agents. One agent screamed in pain. I turned just in
time to see him fall dead. In a rage of anger I pulled out my gun and shot all the Mongols. Suddenly I heard a
chopper flying in.
I turned to see a cluster of choppers, tanks, and foot agents. A chopper flew in and dropped a rope. After the
rope fell, Agent Brown slid down.
“
Agent Brown we lost an agent, he was shot.” I reported.
