“
I’m so sorry my son, but I couldn’t contact you or else the Mongols could have tracked me down and
killed us all.”
They returned home without speaking. When they got back to the village, Han went back to the meadow
and saw his father picking up the debris of the destroyed meadow and plant some flower seeds. Han helped his
father but he still didn’t have the heart to talk to him. But every day, they went to the meadow together. As the
meadow grew more beautiful, so did Han and his father’s relationship. They started talking to each other again.
To thank Han and his father for their bravery and devotion towards China, the emperor made Han the heir to
the throne.
That night, Han had another dream: The stone dragon flew elegantly through the air before landing on the
mountains and turning into the Great Wall. Many soldiers came out of the wall and said, “Thank you Han, for
setting us free!” They then turned into doves and flew off to the heavens.
