Love at the Great Wall

here was once a beautiful thing that happened at the Great Wall of China.

It began in a place that was between the darkest of forests and a hottest of deserts. Here there was a
le. It was quite far from the Great Wall. Inside there was a princess called Lily and she lived in that
le. She was clever, kind and beautiful. She had long black hair and her skin was as white as snow.
liked to read books quietly by herself. There was also a white knight living in the castle. His job
was to protect the castle and the princess. He was very handsome, brave and strong. He was secretly in love with
the princess but he could never tell her

One day, Princess Lily was reading a book about The Great Wall of China. She felt that it was a mysterious
and honorable place. She decided that she wanted to have an adventure at the Great Wall so she went to speak to
the White Knight.
“
My loyal friend, do you know that to the east there is a Great Wall?” she said softly, “I would like to go.
We must prepare, we are going to visit that magical and mysterious place.” The knight was a little nervous but in
the end he said, “Fine, my dear princess, I will be ready in a soon.” So not long later, they set off to the Wall.
They were amazed by the wonderful scenery of The Great Wall. “Wow! How beautiful!” the Lily said in
awe. However, they didn’t know that there were evil eyes staring at them. It was a dragon. It was a very old
dragon. It’s name was Purple. It was an evil monster that lived inside The Great Wall. He was very dangerous
and he had the power to change his shape. Purple was attracted to the beautiful princess when he saw her. He
wanted to catch the princess and he wanted her to fall in love with him.
Lily and the knight were walking around the Great Wall, still impressed by how special it was. Suddenly,
a handsome king appeared. He walked toward the princess and spoke. “My princess, you are the most
beautiful princess in the world,” he politely said, “welcome to the Great Wall of China. Let me guide you and
tell you lots of mysterious stories about the Great Wall.” The Princess was ecstatic and said, Oh yes! Please.
That will be wonderful!”. The dragons trick had worked, for he was the king! He told many different stories
about the Great Wall and the Princess became lost in his tales. The knight was a little suspicious, so he followed
them quietly.
Time passed quickly and the sky grew dark. Purple was happier in the dark so he changed and became a
dragon. “Help! White Knight! Help me!”, screamed Lily but Purple caught hold of the princess and flew away.
Lily shrieked as Purple laughed his way through the sky.
The knight was shocked. He wanted to save the princess, but it was too late. The knight was angry with
himself and shouted, “Monster! I will kill you! I must save my princess”. Yet he could not fly, so Lily was lost.
He was sad about losing Lily, and angry at himself for letting the dragon take her.
The only thing the Knight thought to do was to call his old friend Ninja. Ninja kept a dragon that was called
Fire. The Ninja was strong and quick. He was tall and thin. Fire was strong too. He could fly quickly and breath
fire. Ninja said to the knight, “Don’t worry! My friend Fire and I can help you save the princess. We know
Purple, he is very evil. We know his weakness. He is scared of fire.” With that, they got ready to fight with the
evil dragon and save the Princess. “Let’s go to the dark forest. Purple likes to hide in there,” said Ninja.
The forest was dark and gloomy. There were many skeletons and horrible spooky sounds! The trees had no
leaves. Sometimes they could hear Purple’s laughing voice and sometimes they could hear the princess’ scream.
When they heard the voice, they knew where Princess Lily was. She was in a dark cave.
Fire and Ninja waited outside while the Knight went in alone. Inside the cave, Lily was petrified but Purple
wanted to make her happy and so he changed himself into a human. The Knight approached Purple slowly and
Purple didn’t see him. The Knight swung his sword for Purples head. Purple was hurt and shouted, “Who was
that? I will eat your bones!”
He flew into a rage and attacked the Knight when the Ninja. At the same time Fire and Ninja came into the
cave to help the Knight fight Purple. The knight rushed towards the Princess, “Don’t worry, My dear princess!
They are my friends .We are going to save you. Come on!”
The knight took the princess and left as fast as he could. Ninja and Fire were still fighting with Purple. After
a while, the dark forest was quiet .Ninja and Fire were wounded and Purple was dead. The Great Wall was safe
now. The sun was shining .The Great Wall was more beautiful than ever before.
The Princess and The knight were very happy and they fell in love soon after. Although they never forgot
the day on which they learnt just how important it was to have friends to help protect you, just as the Great Wall
has protected China for thousands of years.
