This is about the adventure of a man who discovered a secret; he found the future of his people.
Huang slowly walked back to the barracks. Finally his shift of guarding the wall was over and he
ed a good nights sleep. On his way to the barracks he accidentally tripped on his spear and fell on his
face. Tired and now injured when he was getting back up, saw a dark hole from the inside of the wall.
I
Puzzled, he slowly crawled towards the hole with disbelief and curiosity. The wall was not finished yet so
there was an excuse for ignoring a hole or two but there was a very large hole right there with no one noticing,
Huang looked in the hole and a sudden whoosh of air took hold of him and he plummeted down the abyss.
Huang started to panic, he tried to call to his fellow guards as he fell but nothing came out of his mouth, he
would never survive a crash. Gripping his spear for dear life, he closed his eyes and waited to land, as a brave
soldier should. Whoosh!! A bright strange light overtook him and he landed with a little thud on a soft grassy
floor. The Great Wall right in front of him.
Huang looked around the strange world he found, there were many people and the wall looked bigger and
longer with more bricks and a few feet bigger. It was a bright sunny day as the sky banished any clouds who
came. On the wall there was many metallic men with red silk on their silver hats, holding spears with long
blades. “Quite strange” Huang thought as he squinted to a village on the mountains. There he could see people
who wore beautiful robes of silk. He walked on the walls and inspected crates full of knives, curved sticks with
a string, a long spear and a spear with a long blade but a short hilt. He saw black powder called Gunpowder
being transported for “fireworks”. And suddenly, the familiar Whoosh took over him once again and Huang
gave in to the light once more.
Thud! As he once more landed in a strange place. Huang was half hoping that he would be right back at
home but as he looked around he was not there yet, he tried to stay calm and brave as he slowly walked to the
top of the wall. He also found out that the people never seemed to notice him so walking up the wall seemed to
be a good idea. He saw at the other side of the wall were broken pieces of the “arrows” he found in the other
time the wall seemed to do its job as protecting very well. He noticed that on the walls was a strange board it
had writing on it, he heard a soldier read out loud: “General Yue Fei is back from the battle of the Jin tribe by
his highness”. The man laughed Huang turned around and got back down to the barracks but suddenly as he
looked inside. There were people with strange looks and very happy faces drinking water coming from beautiful
jugs and outside the tent he saw people who had the same armor of the people of the sunnies (what he named
what we call the Tang Dynasty) lying on the floor on piles, dead. Shocked, he turned and went back to the bright
light.
As he landed once again, he was on the wall in a dark, dangerous dawn were he heard a clip clopping of
horses. On them were dark figures with “swords” (also from the sunnies) slashing through men without mounts.
He saw the Great Wall on fire, a bloody guard screaming at the top of his lungs “MONGOLS!!! WARN THE
EMPEROR” and then a “mongol” took him down.
Thud, the sun was shining over the afternoon world, Huang saw armored sunny people filling the wall with
clay and bricks. He walked to a new board stuck on the wall, it said: “Bristle toothbrush, 15 silver” the next one,
a little older said: “Hong Zhi, new emperor of Ming Dynasty”
Then he saw a poster that was covered by the other papers but it said: Zheng He’s first voyage, we got
silver” And that was all he could read.
So the Han tribe got back our land and now has a man name Zheng He who found this valuable silver”
Smiling, he suddenly remembered him missing his home, the great walls journey still has a long way to go. He
wanted his good nights sleep he wanted “Whatever happens will happen, I will know what I need to know” and
so he disappeared from the Ming dynasty.
Yan Zi Huang wake up!” “Y-yes sir” Huang woke up in a daze head pounding of the things he seen. Dawn
was coming Huang now was carefully walking down with his spear thinking about those metal guards and
marauding mongols and then, he saw the hole. He blinked in disbelief and the hole was gone. But he knew now
that it was all real. “I will die when my time comes. But the Great Wall will only grow” He said as he went to
his post.
