One day, when Danny came back he looked really excited. Peter asked his dad, “Why are you so
?” “
Because we are gonna find treasure in the Great Wall of China!” replied Danny.
What???????” Peter exclaimed. “I will tell you more about it at dinner time.” said Danny.
O
At dinner time, Danny really told the whole story to Peter but they didn’t notice someone was listening to
them outside the house.
The story of the Great Wall of China
Once upon a time, the Great Wall of China was built because of war in the northern nomadic tribe and
other potential enemies. So the Great Wall of China was built to stop war from happening. The Great Wall was
built by Emperor Qin Shihuang in the Qin dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming dynasty. When the Great Wall of
China was built by Emperor Qin Shihuang he told his workers to put all his gold in the Old Dragon’s Head.
Unfortunately when the Ming dynasty rebuilt the Great Wall, they didn’t realize there was gold!”
Today my company found out that there was gold in the place called the Old Dragon’s Head. And my
company send you, me and two other partners to find the gold!!!!!!” finished Danny. “When do we start the
hunt?” asked Peter enthusiastically. “I don’t know. It depends on when we have holidays.” replied Danny.
Three months later, Danny’s boss said it was time to find the gold. They didn’t know that some robbers
already started to find the gold. Danny’s boss got two more partners to join the hunt. They were called Angus
and Conrad. They also brought a dog and a metal detector. The dog was meant to be a guard to protect them but
they made the dog like a pet. The metal detector was used for finding where the gold was hidden. Danny’s boss
arranged a flight to the Great Wall of China. It was so cool!!
At last Danny, Peter, Angus and Conrad were in China. China was a very big country with the largest
population in the world. Angus suggested renting a car. Everybody agreed. They drove to Old Dragon’s Head
where the gold was hidden. They figured out somebody were there before them because Peter found a track of
footprints! They followed the footprints to a cave! Suddenly, three robbers jumped out of the bushes and
captured them. The robbers tied them up and forced them to cough up the information they got. When the
robbers were going out of the cave, a robber stepped on a booby trap and the whole cave collapsed on them!
Luckily the cave didn’t hurt Peter and his friends but it killed the robbers. There were just a few scratches on
Danny. “Whew, that’s close!” shouted Danny! “How can we get out of here?” questioned Conrad. “One of my
hands isn’t tied properly. I could use my pocket knife to set us free!” replied Angus! So Angus did it. “It’s a
little bit hard but I can manage it!” yelled Angus.
After the first day they found a spot which was suitable to sleep. They all slept a good sleep. The next
morning they explored forests, lakes, ponds and many other places. First they explored a forest beside the Great
Wall of China. In the forest they saw many beautiful birds and naughty monkeys. They also saw a pond. The
edge of the pond was made out of bricks. On one of those bricks, they saw a letter “G”. Danny pressed the “G”
and the letter became an arrow. They followed the arrow and went in the forest again. It was growing dark and
they wandered in the forest. They leaned on a tree to take a rest. When Angus’s head lay on the tree, Angus
shouted “Aaahhhhh!!!” He shouted because he bumped into red spiders. He turned around to dust off the spiders.
Then he found that part of the tree was a brick. He quickly woke up his friends. Conrad shone the torch on the
brick and they saw the letter “O”! They pressed the letter “O” and it became an arrow! They followed the
second arrow. The arrow led them back to the Great Wall of China!
They followed the wall for one more kilometer and looked carefully on each brick. Finally they found a
brick with the letter “L”. They pressed the letter but nothing happened. Accidentally their dog bumped on the
brick and a part of the wall became a slide. Everybody got on the slide and whoosh they slid down into a cave.
They searched the cave all over. Suddenly Peter shouted, “I found it!!” “You found what?” shouted Conrad,
Angus and Danny. “I found the brick with a letter “D”!” exclaimed Peter. “G-O-L-D spells GOLD!”
Then Conrad quickly pressed the “D”! At this moment, the metal detector rang! Conrad picked up the
detector and looked at it. The detector indicated north! So all of them rushed to the north side of the cave and the
dog bumped on the wall again. The wall fell down and they saw the gold! They found the gold of Emperor Qin
