RRRRRIIIINNNNGGG” “There goes the bell” I thought. As I walked up to class, my best friend
hia came up to me
“
Hey, Scarlett!”
is into fashion she loves dressing herself up. But I’ve always loved mysteries and exploring. When I
was little I used sneak out at night even if it was pitch black to find out what was hiding in the bushes.

“
Come on, we are late!” Sophia yanked me on the arm. We quickly ran to class.
“
Settle down, children I have an announcement,” Mr. Thomson, the head of year five said.
“
We are going to visit the Great Wall of China.”
The rest of the day was just like any other one and before we knew it, a week past faster than a bolt of
lightning and we were off the plane, on our way to the Great Wall.
2:
the Mysterious wind
When we started climbing up the steps, everyone was in one big group with Mr. Thomson leading.
Suddenly, a thunderstorm broke out. There was sand flying everywhere covering all the stones and bricks and
no one could see anything. The wind was so strong; it was blowing leaves off trees and people could barley even
stand.
“
What’s going on??” a student yelled.
“
I can’t see a thing!!” someone screamed.
Then with a gush of wind the horrible weather disappeared, the sun was shining and everything was back to
normal.
Then Sophia gasped, “Wait, Where Mr. Thomson is??”
There were worried voices everywhere. A moment later all the clouds turned grey and there was fog
everywhere as soon as it cleared up everyone was looking around again but no one noticed Miss Claire missing
at first, not even me….
3:
A little girl
I quickly grabbed Sophia’s arm “I’m going to sneak out and look for Mr. Thomson, okay? Don’t tell
anyone.”
“
No way!” Sophia almost yelled “It’s too dangerous, but if you have to go so am I,” Sophia had a stern look
on her face
“
Fine!”
We were tip toeing down the trail when we heard someone screaming
“
AAAAAHHHH”
“
Come on, let’s see what happened!” I urged. We both ran as fast as our legs could carry us. The screaming
seemed to get closer and closer.
We walked up to the side and saw a little girl dangling in the air with her little hands clenching onto the wall.
“
Scarlett, Do something!!!” Sophia yelled
I grabbed her arm and yanked her up. That little girl wrapped her arms around me and started crying.
“
You’re safe now.” I tried to calm her down
“
What’s your name?,” Sophia asked
“
Xiaohua,” she whispered
Xiaohua had long black hair tied in a ponytail and wore a short red dress.
“
Where do you live? Maybe we could take you back,” I proposed.
4:
A wise man
We walked through the dark jungle and found a small village.
“
My house,” Xiaohua pointed to a small but solid house with ornaments hung near the door.
The door made a squeak when Xiaohua slowly opened it.
An old man quietly sat on a chair.
“
Grandpa, this is Scarlett and Sophia. “ I fell off the edge of the Great Wall. They pulled me up and saved
my life!” Xiaohua’s voice was still shivering.
“
Sophia, Scarlett, this is my grandpa, he is the wisest man in this village,” Xiaohua advised.
