The Dragon and the Great Wall

boy named Dragon didn't like history. But one thing he did like about the history was “The sleeping
dragon". Because of his name, he liked the Great Wall, and "Sleeping dragon" is the nickname of the
Great Wall. His parents told Dragon about the history of the Great Wall.

The Great Wall started in the Qin dynasty, the government at that time raised the tax of the poor
material to build the wall. The emperor of the Ming even made a stronger wall so ... ... "Mum's
words were cut by Dragon. He said
“
this is so amazing, I want to go to China to see the Great Wall!" “No
problem, but you must do a research about the history of the Great Wall, ok?" “Okay!" shouted Dragon
excitedly.

After two month's research, Dragon said “The emperor of Ming wanted a stronger and better, so he called
his people to rebuild and extend the Wall. They used dried bricks which were made of mud. That's what the
Wall looks like now, compare to the Wall was built by dirt only at Qin, that was stronger. The Ming's emperor
wanted to build a stronger Wall to protect their country because the enemies from the north often attacked them.
The only way to get through the wall is to break it by rocks, and, of course, by climbing up with a ladder."

Fantastic!" said Mum, “We will go to China in Spring!”
Time flies, now it's Spring. Dragon thought the stairs of the Wall are steep. “lt's beautiful!" he exclaimed.
“
Be careful! You may fall down." warned his Dad. Just then Dragon stepped into a hole carelessly, and
something terrible happened!
When Dragon opened his eyes, he saw a lot of people building the wall, some people felt down and hurted
or even lost their lives. Dragon thought “I'm lucky," “but where am I?" he felt strange about the surroundings.
Then, suddenly, a man came with lots of people waited behind him, and the man said “You dog, better go to
work!" “Who are you?" Dragon asked him.
The man said angrily "I'm the King of the Qin! Someone comes to kill this boy, he is so rude and lazy!
KILL HIM!" the emperor of Qin was furious. Dragon ran away quickly, he ran so fast that he fell into a hole
again. "oh, again!" "Not again this time!" Dragon thought. He went back to his parents. “We’re worried sick
about you! Dragon, where did you go?" his Dad and Mum asked. He told his parents about the story. He's so
excited and didn't watch his step again! “Oh no! not again!" He fell into a hole by accident! This time he went to
the Ming Dynasty. Dragon was scared to be punished again, “l have to do the hard work this time." he thought.
But the people there were look different from the Qin, and he heard a very loud noise. He felt the Wall was
shaking with a thunder!" The Wall is going to break, oh no!" Dragon shouted. “No, the Wall is NOT going to
break!" said one of the solider. “I'm going to be a solider this time." Dragon thought, "better to do the hard
works, isn't it?" he muttered.
A leader was watching at the Mongols enemies, and he shouted “Fight!" Dragon was nervous but he had to
attack! And he hurt the Mongols! “Oh no, did I hurt someone?" “You better fight, boy." a solider near Dragon
said, "This is a war, you better to kill, or you are being killed!" Dragon had to fight but he felt bad to kill." Well
done, child, fight!" the leader encouraged him, but he hated wars. Suddenly, he fell into a hole.
He went back to the Qin dynasty again. He recognized the Qin people, and he knew that he had to do the
hard works of building this time! A worker gave him some tools to build the Wall, and he started to dig and pull.
The sun shone as hot as fire, and it was lunch time. “You did a good work, kid. Here's your lunch!" A Qin leader
gave him some food. Dragon was hungry, and he started eating it. “Today we have monkey soup with rice.
That's delicious! You want some more?" the Qin leader asked Dragon. "What? What did I ate? Monkey? oh
yuck!" Dragon turned green and wanted to throw up. He was back to work after lunch, he knew he would die if
he wasn't working. He kept digging and pulling until sunset. When all of the workers went asleep, Dragon was
still awake. He thought the history is good, because a lot of people worked very hard, so hard even die for it.

But I don't want to die here, I need to go back to the present home!" Dragon missed his family very much. So
he dug and dug, he wanted to dig a hole to go back to the present time. However, things happened just not what
he wanted.
He arrived at the Mongols team in the late Ming, and they were attacking the Chinese by throwing rocks to
the Wall. One of the Mongols shouted, “Attack! Break this Wall." “Once the wall break down, I will be the
emperor!" the leader of the Mongols said. Dragon was afraid, the Mongols leader forced him to throw stones to
the Wall. Dragon was very sad, he didn't want to break the wonderful Great Wall of China. He thrown a big
